What art did I do on my winter break?

Hello LCHS artists! What art did you work on during the winter break? How about sharing that with your fellow artists? You know that Liberty County HIgh artists support each other with panther pride!

Maybe your art was only in your head during this time, but those artistic daydreams can result in wonderful creations! Maybe you drew or painted, sculpted or created crafts. Share that with your fellow artists for mutual inspiration.

Sometimes we get inspiration from unusual places and experiences. For example, my husband gave me a box of chocolate animal cookies in my Christmas stocking that had a totally fun package in the shape of a circus wagon. The cookies were delicious--back to the gym for me! The box gave me an idea for a watercolor with a "jungle tea party" with a chimpanzee enjoying a "spot of tea" and miniature animals climbing out of the cookie package and playing on the table top. What inspired you to create art during and/or about your holiday with family and friends?

Welcome!

Welcome to the LCHS Art Club blog. The LCHS student Art club meets each Wednesday after school at Liberty County High School in room 604 from 3:30 to 4:30 P.M. All students of Liberty County High School are invited to join Art Club. You do not have to be enrolled in an art class to be a member of art club. All you need is an interest in art.

Some of the activities of Art Club are: community service activities such as students painting holiday decorations for the residents of the Woodland senior and rehabilitation center in Midway. Community service hours for graduation requirement credit is available to students for such activities. Arts and craft meeting activities and projects are also periodically part of the meetings.

LCHS Art Club sponsers the annual LCHS Arts Fest at Liberty County HIgh School each spring. This is an arts festival for the L.C.H.S. students, their families and the community at large. The festival features performances by L.C.H.S. band ensembles, choir, drama students and a juried art show of work by L.C.H.S. art students. Students from Bradwell Institute are also invited to participate in the show. A reception with light refreshments is held at the festival with performances by students of their original poetry. Prizes for the art show are sponsered by the Art Club.

Come to Art Club and join the fun!
